Welcome! At Skills/Compétences Canada, we’re committed to helping Canadian youth discover opportunities for a professional career in skilled trades and technology. By working with people like you, who have an interest in the future of our youth and with those who are working to promote their industry, we are in a unique position to provide information and highlight opportunities for your students.
As you know, students are faced with increasing career possibilities and expectations – factors that can complicate decisions about their future aspirations. That’s why we strive to help promote the benefits of a career in skilled trades and technology while presenting a realistic outline of each career’s responsibilities. Our skilled career profiles contain detailed information about the education requirements and the day-to-day workings of each featured career. Through our skills competitions, young Canadians are given the chance to experience these careers first-hand.
Contact your provincial or territorial office to find out how you can get your students involved with Skills/Compétences Canada events and competitions. You’ll also be able to arrange for an information package or a presentation about careers in skilled trades and technology.
Of course, this website is also full of information and resources that allow you and your students to easily access career information, read the success stories of young Canadians who have chosen skilled trades and technology as their path to success, and gather contact information for local post-secondary programs and industry organizations that support the featured careers.
